Novara Plant

The Novara depot, owned by GTT - Gruppo Torinese Trasporti, covers an area of approximately 6.500 sm very close to the Torino city center. For this reason it can be considered as a stategic facility in the organization of the low impact public transportation system.

After being used for years for the maintenance and the parking of the GTT suburban vehicles, the Novara depot has been reorganized thanks to the planning and under the technical supervision of Torino Metano.

The CNG filling station, opened on Oct 1st 2006, can be used only by the GTT and AMIAT (Torino public waste collection company) fleets.

The CNG station covers an area of 850 sm, it can refill up to 120 buses per day thanks to the high capacity dispensers installed, able to considerably lower the refuelling time on the last generation vehicles.

  • 65 short vehicles (12m)
  • 31 long vehicles (18m)
• average refuelling:
  • 130 Sm3 for a short vehicle
  • 170 Sm3 for a long vehicle

This CNG station can refill up to 6 buses at the same time.

The CNG plant refills an approximate average of 9.000 Sm3/day for the supply of GTT buses.
