Gerbido Plant
The Gerbido depot, owned by GTT - Gruppo Torinese Trasporti, covers an area of approximately 100.000 sm of which 30.000 sm are occupied by buildings, 54.000 sm are used for parking and 16.000 sm are dedicated to fixed installations.
The depot has a vast parking area and a dedicated natural gas filling station. Today it can host up to 350 buses, out of which 189 are natural gas powered. In the Gerbido depot work 840 persons: 700 drivers, 100 labourers and 40 operators.
Due to the wide outdoors parking facilities and to the garage equipped for the contemporaneous maintenance of up to 27 buses either diesel and natural gas powered, Gerbido Is a stategic depot in the management of the public transportation for the Torino municipality.
The depot also offers some specific maintenance services to the entire GTT fleet and represents one of the most adavanced center in Europe for the monitoring of the natural gas system applied to bus fleets.
The Gerbido depot hosts the widest natural gas filling station for buses in Europe, opened on Dec 5th 2005.
